Born in 1975 in Split, Croatia, Siniša Štambuk began his career in photography in 1996 as photojournalist in daily papers “Slobodna Dalmacija”. Soon afterwards he moves to Zagreb where he collaborates with leading Croatian publishing houses, becoming a permanent associate in the top selling weekly newspapers and periodicals.
He graduated in 1995 from the School of Fine Arts and Design in Split, Photography Course, with the final thesis on Photo-Journalism.
After many years working as photographer for different newspaper publishing houses, in 2007 he decided to pursue a freelance career as wedding photographer. He draws inspiration from the work of Jeff Ascough, one of the best wedding photographers in the world, and from top documentary photographers such as Steve Mc Curry, Alex Webb, Don McCullin, etc... His passion for documentary photography has led to the introduction of documentary and artistic elements into his wedding photography, which in Croatia was so far traditionally based on posing.
Siniša approaches wedding photography like an observer, in no way taking the role of an omnipresent director who imposes his own idea of how somebody's most important day in life should look like. Hidden from the spotlight to truly search for and capture the very essence of the wedding ceremony, this photographer will give you back the memory of this day filled with atmosphere and emotion.
With his studio located in Split, Siniša is available for booking anywhere in Croatia.
